The National Automobile Museum in Encamp holds one of the more surprising collections in Andorra — vintage cars and motorcycles spanning more than a century of motoring history, assembled from a private collection and displayed in genuine depth rather than as a handful of curiosities. It's an unexpected find in a country better known for skiing and duty-free shopping, and rewards visitors willing to look past the more obvious attractions. Encamp also connects directly into Grandvalira's slopes via Funicamp, a cable-car link that carries skiers up from the valley floor without the need to drive further into the mountains — a genuinely practical piece of infrastructure that also makes for a scenic ride outside ski season. Above the town, Lake Engolasters sits in a genuinely peaceful setting reached by an easy walking trail, with the Romanesque church of Sant Miquel d'Engolasters — one of Andorra's three great Romanesque highlights, alongside Sant Joan de Caselles and Santa Coloma — perched above the water.
