Overview
Guatemala's embassy in Tokyo operates from the Higashi Azabu district of Minato-ku, managing bilateral relations with Japan — one of Guatemala's most important development partners in Asia. JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) has been active in Guatemala for decades, funding infrastructure, disaster preparedness, agricultural modernization, and technical training programs. Japan is also a significant importer of Guatemalan coffee. The embassy coordinates trade promotion, educational exchange (Japanese government scholarships for Guatemalan students), and engagement with the Japanese business community interested in Central American markets.
