Frequently asked questions
How long can Peruvians stay in Thailand without a visa?
90 days with an ordinary passport, under a bilateral agreement — a month longer than the standard exemption. It covers tourism; the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) still must be registered online within three days before arrival, and work, study, or retirement need an e-Visa regardless.
Which countries does the Thai embassy in Lima cover?
Peru plus Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia, and Ecuador — Thailand's only mission in the Andean region, with no post in Caracas, Bogotá, La Paz, or Quito. Residents of the four accredited countries apply through the online e-Visa system naming their country of residence; Lima processes the applications.
How do I get an appointment at the Thai embassy in Lima?
Through the online booking system at appt.link/rtelimaconsularservices — consular visits run on appointments, not walk-ins. The chancery at 678 Coronel Portillo Avenue in San Isidro opens Monday to Friday, 09:00-12:30 and 14:00-17:30.
Do Colombians, Venezuelans, Bolivians, and Ecuadorians get Peru's 90 days?
Not automatically — the 90-day arrangement is Peru's own bilateral agreement, and each passport follows its own terms. Travellers from the accredited countries should check their current conditions on the official e-Visa portal thaievisa.go.th before booking. Everyone registers the TDAC online before arrival.
Which email reaches the right desk at the Lima embassy?
Three mailboxes, split by task: visa.lim@mfa.go.th for visa matters, consular.lim@mfa.go.th for the consular section (legalisation, Thai-national services), and thaiembassy.lim@mfa.go.th for everything else. Phone +51 1 637 5620 during office hours.
