Embassy of Peru in Santiago

Embassy of Peru in Santiago, Chile

Overview

The Embassy of Peru in Chile manages the bilateral relationship with one of the Peruvian Foreign Service's most structurally and operationally dense partners. Chile hosts one of the largest Peruvian communities abroad — particularly in Santiago and the northern zone (Arica, Iquique, Antofagasta) — and the bilateral relationship covers trade (Chile is one of Peru's main regional trading partners), investment (Chilean firms such as Falabella, Cencosud, Latam, BCI and Sodimac have significant operations in Peru), and South American integration through the Pacific Alliance. The Peruvian consular network in Chile includes Consulates-General in Santiago, Arica, Iquique, Antofagasta and Valparaíso.

Visa Services

The Embassy and the Consulates-General process visa applications for Chilean citizens travelling to Peru. Detailed requirements are published on the Embassy's portal.

Consular Services

Consular services for Peruvian citizens — passports, DNI national IDs, civil registration, notarial services and emergencies — are handled by the Consulate-General of Peru in Santiago at Calle Antonio Bellet 444 (Providencia), in a separate facility from the Embassy itself.

Trade & Export Support

The Peruvian commercial office (OCEX Santiago) and PromPerú work closely with the Embassy on the promotion of bilateral trade — agroindustry, textiles, manufactures — and on productive integration between the two countries under the Pacific Alliance framework.

Cultural & Educational Programs

The Embassy supports Peruvian-Chilean academic exchanges, cultural programmes and the Peruvian cultural presence in Chile — notably Peruvian gastronomy, which has had a significant impact on the Chilean culinary scene.
