Not for stays of up to 60 days — tourism, family visits, and short business trips are all covered by Thailand's visa exemption for New Zealand passports. You must still register the Thailand Digital Arrival Card online within three days before arrival. Working, studying, retiring, or staying longer requires an e-Visa applied for online before travel.
Entirely online, through the official Thai e-Visa portal — the Wellington embassy no longer takes paper applications at the counter. Pick the category that fits (Non-Immigrant B for work, ED for study, O for family or retirement, or the Destination Thailand Visa for remote workers), upload your documents, and pay the non-refundable fee online. New Zealand residents are processed under the Wellington embassy.
A free online arrival registration that every foreign traveller — visa-exempt or not — must complete within three days before arriving in Thailand. It replaced the old paper arrival card, and it is not a visa: it neither grants nor extends any right to stay.
