Frequently asked questions
For short visits, no. Indian citizens can enter Thailand visa-free for stays of up to 60 days for tourism, short business trips, or family visits. The exemption is a policy measure that Thailand reviews periodically, so it is worth confirming the current rule shortly before travel. A Thailand Digital Arrival Card must still be registered online before arrival, and stays beyond the exemption require a visa obtained through Thailand's e-Visa system.
The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is a free online arrival registration that every foreign national must complete within three days before arriving in Thailand by air, land, or sea. It replaced the old paper arrival card. It is not a visa and does not change how long you may stay — visa-exempt travellers and visa holders alike simply register it before departure.
All Thai visa applications from India are submitted online through the official Thai e-Visa portal — the embassy no longer accepts walk-in paper applications. Choose the correct category — Non-Immigrant B for employment, ED for study, O for family or retirement — upload your documents digitally, and pay the non-refundable fee online. Processing times vary by category and season, so apply well before your travel date.
