Overview
The British High Commission in Kampala is the first point of contact for UK visa information in Uganda. Ugandan nationals require a UK visa for visits, study, work, and family routes — applications are submitted through VFS Global UK Visa Application Centres in Uganda (Kampala). The High Commission also provides emergency consular assistance and documentary services to British nationals. Note: the High Commission cannot carry out notarial acts in Commonwealth countries — local notaries must be contacted for document certification, oaths, or affidavits. Uganda is home to remarkable wildlife and landscapes: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (home to mountain gorillas), Murchison Falls National Park, and the source of the Nile at Jinja attract growing numbers of visitors.
