Overview

Visa Services
The consulate processes nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications for residents of Hong Kong and Macau. Hong Kong is one of the highest-volume visa processing posts in East Asia. Categories include student, business/tourist, exchange visitor, work, and family-based immigrant visas.
Consular Services
American Citizen Services (ACS) provides passport issuance and renewal, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, notarial services, federal benefits assistance, and emergency support for the large American community in Hong Kong and Macau. The ACS unit also coordinates with local authorities on arrest cases, medical emergencies and welfare matters.
