The Embassy of Angola in Rome is Angola's diplomatic mission to Italy, processing visa applications for Italian residents, providing consular services to Angolan nationals, and supporting a substantial energy-driven trade relationship between the two countries.
Visa Services
Since Presidential Decree 189/23 of September 29, 2023, Angola exempts citizens of 98 countries — including Italy, most of the EU, Brazil, and Portugal — from a tourist visa for stays of up to 30 days per entry and 90 days per year. Travellers not covered by the list, or travelling for work, study, or longer stays, still use the online tourist e-visa or apply at this embassy (application form, passport scan and photo, proof of accommodation, return ticket, and travel insurance); business trips require a letter of invitation from an Angolan company. Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for all travellers. As these rules changed recently, travellers should check the current country list and permitted duration before departure.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Angolan nationals in Italy.

Angola and Italy maintain a substantial trade relationship centred on energy — Italian energy company Eni is one of the largest foreign operators in Angola's offshore oil sector, with decades of exploration and production activity there. The embassy's economic section supports bilateral trade promotion and business matchmaking between Angolan and Italian companies.
