Overview

The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Jakarta is the Kingdom's diplomatic mission to Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim-majority nation and one of the largest annual sources of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims. The embassy processes visa applications for Indonesian residents, provides consular services to Saudi nationals, and works closely with Indonesia's own religious-affairs authorities on the coordination of pilgrimage travel.

Visa Services

Indonesian residents applying to visit Saudi Arabia for tourism, business, or family visits should note that most eligible nationalities can now obtain an eVisa online rather than applying in person at the embassy — the e-visa is also open to holders of a valid Schengen, UK or US visa and to permanent residents of the US, EU or UK, with a visa on arrival available to the same travellers. Hajj and Umrah, however, remain separate categories: Hajj is arranged through Indonesia's officially registered pilgrimage travel organisers (PIHK for Hajj, PPIU for Umrah) working with the embassy and Saudi authorities, given the scale and season-bound nature of Indonesian pilgrimage travel; Umrah can also be performed on a tourism e-visa by eligible travellers, with the Umrah permit applied for online.

Consular Services

The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Saudi nationals in Indonesia.

Trade & Export Support

Indonesia and Saudi Arabia maintain trade ties spanning energy, halal food products, and workforce mobility — Indonesia is one of the largest source countries of contract labour to the Kingdom — alongside the extensive annual Hajj charter-flight operations between Indonesian and Saudi carriers that support the world's largest single-nationality pilgrimage flow, coordinated closely with Indonesia's religious-affairs ministry.
