Overview
The Embassy of Bangladesh in Rome is Bangladesh's diplomatic mission to Italy, serving one of the largest Bangladeshi communities in Europe and processing visa applications for Italian residents alongside the substantial garment-trade relationship between the two countries.
Visa Services
Most foreign nationals, including Italians, need a visa to enter Bangladesh. The country offers an e-visa for citizens of numerous countries through the evisa.gov.bd portal, requiring a valid passport, passport photo, accommodation details, travel itinerary, and fee payment. E-visas are usually processed within 5 working days and allow tourist or business stays. Visa on arrival is available at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and Chittagong's Shah Amanat Airport for eligible nationalities, including the US, UK, EU, Australia, Canada, and others. Traditional applications through Bangladeshi diplomatic missions remain possible for longer stays, work permits, or student visas.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Bangladeshi nationals in Italy — home to one of Europe's largest Bangladeshi communities.
Trade & Export Support
Italy is a major destination for Bangladeshi garment exports, one of the pillars of Bangladesh's economy, and Rome and other Italian cities host a substantial and long-established Bangladeshi community. The embassy's economic section supports bilateral trade promotion and business matchmaking between Bangladeshi and Italian companies.
