Overview
Botswana's Geneva mission serves a dual role: it is the country's bilateral embassy to Switzerland and its permanent mission to the United Nations Office at Geneva, the World Trade Organization, the World Health Organization and other international organisations based in the city. Geneva's multilateral hub makes it a strategic diplomatic post for Botswana — the country engages actively in UN human rights mechanisms, WTO trade negotiations and WHO health frameworks. The mission also manages bilateral relations with Switzerland, which has supported Botswana's development through cooperation programmes and hosts a Swiss consulate in Gaborone.
Visa Services
The mission processes visa applications for Swiss citizens and residents travelling to Botswana. Swiss nationals can enter Botswana visa-free for stays up to 90 days. For longer stays or specific purposes, contact the consular section for current requirements.
Consular Services
The mission provides consular services to Botswana nationals in Switzerland, including passport applications, citizen registration and emergency assistance.
Service Area
Covers the Swiss Confederation. Also serves as Botswana's permanent mission to UN Geneva, WTO, WHO and other international organisations.
