Overview
The Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Rome is the Dominican Republic's diplomatic mission to Italy, processing visa applications for Italian residents and providing consular services to Dominican nationals in Italy.
Visa Services
The Dominican Republic uses a tourist card system that simplifies entry for most nationalities. The tourist card costs 10 USD (usually bundled into the airline ticket price) and allows stays of up to 30 days, extendable to a total of 120 days through the Migration Department. Italian, EU, US, Canadian, UK, and many other citizens can enter with no advance visa application. The mandatory eTicket system (eticket.migracion.gob.do) lets travellers complete immigration and customs forms online up to 7 days before arrival, generating a QR code to speed up border processing. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from arrival.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Dominican nationals in Italy.
Trade & Export Support
The embassy's economic section supports bilateral trade promotion and business matchmaking between Dominican and Italian companies.
