Guam is a US territory in Micronesia, an island about 30 miles (48 km) long in the western Pacific, home to the Chamorro people, whose ancestors have lived in the Mariana Islands for some 3,500 years. English and Chamorro are both official languages and the US dollar is the currency, while its nineteen villages keep a Catholic fiesta calendar of their own. Entry follows US rules: US citizens need no passport on a direct trip, an ESTA or a US visa covers Guam as it covers the rest of the country, and a Guam-and-Northern-Marianas visa waiver admits nationals of twelve Asia-Pacific countries and areas for up to 45 days.

Guam Entry Requirements & Visa Information
As a US territory, Guam follows American immigration law, with one entry program of its own. US citizens travelling directly between the United States and Guam do not need a passport: a REAL ID-compliant licence or another valid federal or state photo ID covers the flight, and Guam's tourism board advises adults to carry proof of citizenship, such as an original or certified birth certificate, alongside it — a routing through an airport in Japan, Korea or the Philippines is international travel and needs a passport. The Guam-CNMI Visa Waiver Program admits nationals of twelve countries and areas — Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Nauru, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and the United Kingdom — for business or pleasure visits of up to 45 days, for travel solely to Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. It requires a valid machine-readable passport, a return or onward ticket, and an approved Guam-CNMI Electronic Travel Authorization (G-CNMI eTA) obtained online before boarding; the paper form once completed in flight has been discontinued. Hong Kong travellers qualify with a Hong Kong SAR or BN(O) passport together with a Hong Kong identity card, and Taiwan travellers must be residents who begin the journey in Taiwan, fly directly to Guam or the Northern Marianas, and carry a Taiwan national identity card and a passport with a valid re-entry permit. The waiver does not reach Hawaii or the US mainland: travellers who enter with an ESTA under the US Visa Waiver Program, or with a US visa, are admitted to Guam on the same terms as the rest of the United States, and those are the documents for any trip that continues onward. China and Russia are not on the Guam-CNMI list, so their citizens need a US visa for Guam like any other nationality outside both programs. Every arriving passenger, domestic flights included, completes the Guam Electronic Declaration Form — a mandatory electronic customs and health declaration that opens 72 hours before arrival, with kiosks at the airport's baggage claim for anyone who could not complete it in advance — and declares any food, plants or animal products on it. Entry is through Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport, minutes from the hotels of Tumon, with flights from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the Philippines and from Honolulu.
