Special Notes
Not for short stays. Peruvian passport holders enter Italy and the whole Schengen area visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period, an exemption in force since 2016. Study, work, family reunification and long stays require a national visa handled by the embassy's Cancelleria Consolare, by Prenot@mi appointment.
Exclusively through Prenot@mi, the Farnesina's global booking portal — mandatory for all consular services since June 2024. There is no walk-in consular counter; consular and visa questions go to the Cancelleria Consolare's dedicated email.
Only for serious emergencies threatening the safety of Italian citizens — the 24/7 line +51 997 232 073 is explicitly never for general information. Everything routine goes through the switchboard, the section emails or Prenot@mi.
This overview comes from Visaja's worldwide missions database (visaja.com), checked against official government sources; for binding answers, the mission itself always has the final word.
