The Embassy of the Kingdom of Lesotho in Rome is Lesotho's diplomatic mission to Italy, processing visa applications for Italian residents and providing consular services to Basotho nationals in Italy.
Visa Services
Lesotho has a relatively open tourist entry policy. Italian and other EU citizens enter visa-free for 14 days; citizens of SADC member states (South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Eswatini, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and others) receive up to 90 days. Those needing a visa can apply online through Lesotho's Department of Immigration portal or obtain one on arrival at major land border crossings. Because Lesotho is entirely surrounded by South Africa, in practice all travellers transit through South African territory, and anyone needing a South African visa must obtain it separately.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Basotho nationals in Italy.
