Visa Services
Madagascar operates one of Africa's most accessible visa systems: a visa on arrival or e-visa for citizens of all countries, with no mandatory consular process. Tourist visas are issued for 30 days (around 35-37 EUR), 60 days (around 40-45 EUR), or 90 days (around 50-55 EUR) on landing at Antananarivo's Ivato International Airport, Nosy Be Airport, Sainte-Marie, and other international entry points; alternatively, the e-visa can be applied for before departure at the official portal evisamada.gov.mg. Payment on arrival is cash only — euros, US dollars, or ariary. A passport valid for at least 6 months from entry with at least 3 blank pages is required.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Malagasy nationals in Italy.
