Overview
The Embassy of Myanmar in Rome is Myanmar's diplomatic mission to Italy, processing visa applications for Italian residents and providing consular services to Myanmar nationals in Italy.
Visa Services
Myanmar issues most tourist and business visas through the e-visa portal evisa.moip.gov.mm. Citizens of around 100 eligible nationalities — including Italy and the rest of the EU, the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and much of Latin America — can apply online for a single-entry 28-day tourist e-visa for 50 USD, typically issued within 3-5 working days and valid for entry within 90 days of issue. Required documents: a passport scan (valid at least 6 months from entry, with at least one blank visa page), a recent colour photo, and accommodation details. ASEAN citizens and a small number of others enter visa-free or with a visa on arrival under regional agreements. Most Western governments currently maintain significant travel advisories for Myanmar — travellers should check their own foreign ministry's guidance before booking.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Myanmar nationals in Italy.
