Overview
The Embassy of Nicaragua in Rome is Nicaragua's diplomatic mission to Italy, processing visa applications for Italian residents and providing consular services to Nicaraguan nationals in Italy.
Visa Services
Nicaragua offers visa-free entry to citizens of over 90 countries — including Italy, the rest of the EU, Canada, the US, and Australia — for tourist stays usually of 90 days. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months on entry. Entry is via Managua's Augusto C. Sandino Airport or the land borders with Costa Rica and Honduras. Important: Nicaragua is part of the CA-4 Border Agreement with Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador — the 90 days apply cumulatively across the four countries, not separately to each. Once the period expires, travellers must leave the CA-4 zone for at least 72 hours before re-entering. A 3 USD exit fee applies.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Nicaraguan nationals in Italy.
Trade & Export Support
The embassy's economic section supports bilateral trade promotion and business matchmaking between Nicaraguan and Italian companies.
Service Area

Appointment Information
