Overview
The Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in Vienna is North Macedonia's diplomatic mission in Austria. It supports the sizeable North Macedonian community resident in Austria, processes visa applications for Austrian residents travelling to North Macedonia, and promotes bilateral relations, including North Macedonia's EU accession process, in which Austria is an active supporter.
Visa Services
Austrian citizens do not need a visa to visit North Macedonia for short tourist or business stays. Third-country nationals resident in Austria who require a visa should apply directly through the embassy, providing a valid passport, a completed application form, a passport photograph, proof of accommodation and proof of sufficient funds. Requirements vary by nationality and purpose of travel, so applicants should confirm the current checklist with the embassy before applying.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport applications and renewals, civil-registration services (births, marriages, deaths), notarial services and emergency assistance for North Macedonian nationals resident in or travelling through Austria — a significant diaspora community built up over decades of labour migration.
Trade & Export Support
North Macedonia and Austria maintain an active trade and investment relationship, with Austrian companies present in North Macedonia's banking, insurance and manufacturing sectors, and North Macedonian exports to Austria including textiles and agricultural products. The embassy supports business delegations and investment enquiries between the two countries.
