Overview
The Embassy of Pakistan in Rome is Pakistan's diplomatic mission to Italy — the reference embassy for both Italy and San Marino — processing visa applications for Italian residents and providing consular services to Pakistani nationals in Italy.
Visa Services
Pakistan has run an online visa system through the NADRA portal (visa.nadra.gov.pk) since 2019, issuing tourist and business e-visas plus an electronic Visa-on-Arrival authorisation for eligible nationalities at the international airports of Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Peshawar. Italian and San Marino passports are on the VOA-eligible list and apply for the electronic authorisation online before departure via the same NADRA portal, presenting it with their passport (valid at least 6 months beyond the planned stay), a return ticket, and proof of accommodation at immigration on arrival, paying the fee on the spot. The standard tourist e-visa is single-entry for up to 90 days, costs around 60 USD (varies by nationality), and is typically issued in 4-7 working days. Travellers who cannot use the e-visa or VOA apply at this embassy.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Pakistani nationals in Italy.
Trade & Export Support
The embassy's economic section supports bilateral trade promotion and business matchmaking between Pakistani and Italian companies.
Service Area
Italy and San Marino.
Appointment Information
Consular appointments are booked through the embassy's official channels.
Special Notes
Pakistan's National Day is March 23.
