Overview
The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Beijing is the Kingdom's diplomatic mission to China, coordinating with Consulates General in Guangzhou and Hong Kong for consular services in southern China and Hong Kong. The embassy processes visa applications for Chinese residents, provides consular services to Saudi nationals, and supports one of Saudi Arabia's largest trade relationships worldwide.
Visa Services
Chinese residents applying to visit Saudi Arabia for tourism, business, family visits, or Umrah should note that most eligible nationalities can now obtain an eVisa online rather than applying in person at the embassy — this also extends to holders of a valid Schengen, UK or US visa and to permanent residents of the US, EU or UK, with a visa on arrival available to the same travellers. Umrah can be performed year-round on the tourism e-visa, with the Umrah permit applied for online; Hajj needs a separate permit and only takes place in the Hajj season. Purpose-specific or long-term visas that require embassy processing are handled through the consular section, with requirements typically including a valid passport, passport photo, and purpose-specific supporting documents.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Saudi nationals in China. Saudi citizens in southern China and Hong Kong are also served by the Consulates General there.
Trade & Export Support
China is one of Saudi Arabia's largest trading partners and the Kingdom's biggest single buyer of crude oil, while Chinese manufacturing, construction, and technology firms are increasingly active in Vision 2030 diversification projects. The embassy's economic section supports bilateral trade promotion and business matchmaking between Chinese and Saudi companies.
Service Area
China, with southern China and Hong Kong also served by the Consulates General in Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
Appointment Information
Consular appointments are booked through the embassy's official channels; visa applications for most nationalities are processed via the Saudi eVisa portal rather than in-person embassy visits.
