Overview
The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Helsinki is the Kingdom's diplomatic mission to Finland, with the ambassador also serving as non-resident envoy to Estonia and Latvia — both handled from this office rather than a separate resident post. The embassy processes visa applications for Finnish residents, provides consular services to Saudi nationals, and supports the trade and cultural relationship between the two countries.
Visa Services
Finnish residents applying to visit Saudi Arabia for tourism, business, family visits, or Umrah should note that most eligible nationalities can now obtain an eVisa online rather than applying in person at the embassy — this includes holders of a valid Schengen visa or residence, since Finland is itself a Schengen state, and extends more broadly to holders of a valid UK or US visa and to permanent residents of the US, EU or UK, with a visa on arrival available to the same travellers. Umrah can be performed year-round on the tourism e-visa, with the Umrah permit applied for online; Hajj needs a separate permit and only takes place in the Hajj season. Purpose-specific or long-term visas that require embassy processing are handled through the consular section, with requirements typically including a valid passport, passport photo, and purpose-specific supporting documents.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Saudi nationals in Finland, Estonia, and Latvia.
Trade & Export Support
Finland and Saudi Arabia maintain a growing trade relationship, with Finnish telecommunications expertise (Nokia has long supplied network technology to Saudi operators) and cleantech, forestry, and renewable-energy know-how supporting Saudi Vision 2030 diversification projects. The embassy's economic section supports bilateral trade promotion and business matchmaking between Finnish and Saudi companies.
Service Area
Finland (resident), plus non-resident accreditation to Estonia and Latvia.
Appointment Information
Consular appointments are booked through the embassy's official channels; visa applications for most nationalities are processed via the Saudi eVisa portal rather than in-person embassy visits.
Special Notes
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's National Day is September 23.
