Overview
The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Madrid is the Kingdom's diplomatic mission to Spain, representing Saudi interests across the bilateral relationship, providing consular services to Saudi nationals, and guiding Spanish residents on travel to Saudi Arabia.
Visa Services
Spanish residents travelling to Saudi Arabia for tourism, business, family visits or Umrah can, in most cases, obtain the tourism e-visa online rather than applying at the embassy — the e-visa is open to eligible nationalities and, in addition, to holders of a valid Schengen, UK or US visa and to permanent residents of the US, EU or UK, with a visa on arrival available to the same travellers. Visa categories that fall outside the e-visa (certain long-term or purpose-specific visas) are handled through the embassy's consular section. Umrah can be performed year-round on the tourism e-visa, with the Umrah permit applied for online; Hajj needs a separate permit and only takes place in the Hajj season.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel-document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalisation, and emergency assistance for Saudi nationals in Spain.
Trade & Export Support
Spain and Saudi Arabia maintain active trade and investment ties — from Spanish engineering and infrastructure expertise, exemplified by the Spanish-led consortium that built the Haramain High-Speed Railway between Makkah, Madinah and Jeddah, to cooperation in tourism, transport and renewable energy under Vision 2030. The embassy's economic section supports bilateral trade promotion.

Consular appointments are booked through the embassy's official channels; visa applications for most travellers are handled via the Saudi e-visa portal rather than in person at the embassy.
