Overview
The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Bern is the Kingdom's diplomatic mission to Switzerland, with the ambassador also serving as non-resident envoy to Liechtenstein. A separate Consulate General in Geneva handles consular services for the French-speaking region and hosts Saudi Arabia's permanent mission to the UN and other Geneva-based international organizations.
Visa Services
Swiss and Liechtenstein nationals are among the eligible nationalities who can apply for the Saudi tourism e-visa online — issued within minutes to hours and valid one year for multiple entries, up to 90 days per stay — instead of applying in person in Bern. The e-visa, and visa on arrival at major Saudi airports, is also available to anyone holding a valid Schengen, UK or US visa or permanent residence in the US, EU or UK. It covers tourism, business, family visits and Umrah, which may be performed year-round with an Umrah permit applied for online; Hajj is separate, requiring a dedicated Hajj visa issued only for the Hajj season. Categories the e-visa does not cover, such as work and long-term visas, are processed by the consular section against a passport valid for at least six months.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Saudi nationals in German-speaking Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Residents of French-speaking Switzerland are served by the Consulate General in Geneva.

Consular appointments are booked through the embassy's official channels; visa applications for most nationalities are processed via the Saudi eVisa portal rather than in-person embassy visits.
