The Embassy of Slovakia in Rome is Slovakia's diplomatic mission to Italy and San Marino, processing visa applications for Italian residents and providing consular services to Slovak nationals in Italy.
Visa Services
As a Schengen member, Slovakia follows the standard Schengen framework for short stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Italian, San Marino, Vatican, and Swiss citizens enter freely with an ID card (EU/EEA citizens) or passport. Citizens of around 60 visa-exempt countries — including the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and much of Latin America — enter visa-free for short stays with a Schengen-compliant passport. Travellers needing a Schengen visa apply at the Slovak embassy or consulate for their place of residence — Rome for Italy and San Marino, Bern for Switzerland, Vienna for Austria — with standard Schengen documentation: application form, photos, a return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation, travel medical insurance with at least €30,000 coverage, and proof of funds.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Slovak nationals in Italy.

The embassy's economic section supports bilateral trade promotion and business matchmaking between Slovak and Italian companies.
