Overview
The Embassy of Slovenia in Rome is Slovenia's diplomatic mission to Italy, processing visa applications for Italian residents and providing consular services to Slovenian nationals in Italy.
Visa Services
Slovenia is a full Schengen member — Italian citizens need only an ID card or passport, the currency is the euro, and there is no roaming cost. Citizens of around 60 exempt countries — the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea among others — can stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the whole Schengen area, not just Slovenia. Other nationalities need a Schengen visa from a Slovenian embassy or consulate, or another Schengen mission representing Slovenia. Standard documents: a passport valid at least 3 months beyond the planned exit date, travel medical insurance with at least €30,000 coverage, a return ticket, and proof of accommodation and funds.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Slovenian nationals in Italy.

The embassy's economic section supports bilateral trade promotion and business matchmaking between Slovenian and Italian companies.
