The Royal Thai Embassy in Rome (Reale Ambasciata di Thailandia) occupies a villa on Via Nomentana in the Nomentano-Trieste district, a leafy residential area northeast of Rome's historic centre, approximately 2 kilometres from Termini station. The embassy manages Thailand's bilateral relationship with Italy across trade, investment, tourism, culture, and education, and serves as the accredited diplomatic mission for Albania, Libya, Cyprus, San Marino, and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Italian citizens can enter Thailand visa-free for 60 days. The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is mandatory since May 2025. All visa applications must be submitted exclusively online via thaievisa.go.th — passport submission at the embassy is not required. Processing takes up to 14 working days (longer during high season). Apply minimum 15 days before intended arrival but no more than 90 days in advance. Application fees are non-refundable in all cases. The embassy cannot edit personal details after submission. Italian travel document holders (refugees) must obtain a visa before travelling to Thailand.

Italian exports to Thailand include machinery, fashion and luxury goods, automotive components, wines and food products, and industrial equipment. Thai exports to Italy encompass electronics, processed food (canned seafood, rice, tropical fruits), rubber, jewellery and gemstones, textiles, and automotive parts. Italy's strengths in fashion, design, and food technology complement Thailand's manufacturing base — several Italian food companies source ingredients from Thailand, and Italian fashion brands utilise Thai textile production. The Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bangkok facilitates business networking and bilateral trade events.

The embassy supports Italian businesses exploring the Thai market through referrals to the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce, the Italy Trade Agency (ICE), the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), and the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
