Turkish Embassy in Vienna

The Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Vienna represents Turkey in Austria. Austria has approximately 300,000 residents of Turkish origin, making it one of the largest Turkish diaspora communities relative to population in Europe. Turkey operates consulates general in Vienna, Salzburg, and Bregenz, plus an honorary consulate in Linz. Turkey is a top holiday destination for Austrian residents — direct flights from Vienna to Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir, and Bodrum operate year-round. The embassy also coordinates with Turkey's Permanent Missions to the United Nations and OSCE in Vienna.

Austrian citizens may enter Türkiye without a visa for qualifying tourism and business visits of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Work, study, family reunification, and residence require the appropriate authorization before travel; other nationals should check the rules for their citizenship and purpose of travel.

The embassy manages diplomatic and governmental matters. Routine passports, civil registration, citizenship guidance, notarial services, and consular assistance are provided through Türkiye's consulates general in Vienna, Salzburg, and Bregenz according to their jurisdictions.

The embassy supports bilateral economic relations in areas including tourism, manufacturing, transport and logistics, food and agriculture, and investment, and helps connect Austrian and Turkish institutions and business networks.
