The Embassy of Uganda in Rome is Uganda's diplomatic mission to Italy, processing visa applications for Italian residents and providing consular services to Ugandan nationals in Italy.
Visa Services
Uganda uses an e-visa-only system through the official government portal at visas.immigration.go.ug. There is no visa on arrival at Entebbe International Airport or any land border, and arriving without a pre-issued e-visa results in denied entry — airlines routinely refuse boarding to travellers who have not completed the application before departure. The standard tourist e-visa is single-entry and usually valid for stays of up to 90 days, with the actual duration set by the immigration officer at the point of entry. The East Africa Tourist Visa is the regional alternative (100 USD, 90 days, multiple entries) covering Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required both at application and again at the border on arrival. Overstaying is penalised — the published fine is around 30 USD per day.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Ugandan nationals in Italy.
