Visa Services
Zambia applies a tiered visa system that has become more open in recent years. Citizens of around 50 countries — including the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and most of the Commonwealth — currently enter visa-free for tourist stays of up to 90 days. Italian, San Marino, Vatican, EU, and most other Western nationalities still need a visa, available online as a Zambia e-visa through the Department of Immigration portal, or on arrival paid in cash in US dollars at any major international entry point: Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (Lusaka), Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport (Livingstone), Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport (Ndola), and the main land crossings with Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania, Malawi, and the DRC. The single-entry tourist visa costs 50 USD, double or multiple entry 80 USD. The passport must be valid at least 6 months from entry with 2-3 blank pages. The KAZA UNIVISA (50 USD, 30 days) allows free movement between Zambia and Zimbabwe plus day trips into Botswana — the standard choice for a Victoria Falls + Chobe safari circuit.
Consular Services
The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Zambian nationals in Italy.
