The Embassy of Malta in Rome is Malta's diplomatic mission to Italy, processing visa applications for Italian residents and providing consular services to Maltese nationals in Italy.
Visa Services
As a Schengen member, Malta follows the common Schengen visa rules. EU/EEA/Swiss citizens can enter with an ID card or valid passport and stay freely. Citizens of the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and many other countries can enter visa-free for tourist or business stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the whole Schengen area. Those needing a Schengen visa must apply at a Maltese embassy or consulate.

The embassy provides passport and travel document services, civil registration, document attestation and legalization, and emergency consular assistance for Maltese nationals in Italy.
